To my client,
I hope this note find you well, we’ve been at sea for two days now, but this may not reach you until we’ve landed. The sea has provided smooth sailing. All your passengers are happy customers, and thoroughly enjoying the many time-consuming frivolities your staff have been providing, in great quantity.
In the meantime I have received your list of potential leads (all pre-dating her career), it is my hope to find enough information in these places to find her as soon as possible. I shall begin at your aunt’s house, as you suggested. If anybody knows anything, it’s sure to be your aunt, as you told me, she has perfect grounds for hideaways, on long summer vacation afternoons.
Everything is as it should be, the food, crew, and company are excellent (although, the latter is somewhat nosey). Oh, I must be getting on, they’re fixing the sails, as the winds have picked up, and a few clouds have sidled up.
Dutifully at your service,
